Doubt

I just had one of the busiest Sundays in history, so you'll have to forgive me for being brief.

In Jeremiah 12 our prophet is tired, he is not seeing the fruit of his labor and he brings a question, a doubt before God.

The main points: Doubt is a part of a growing faith. Just like testing a muscle makes it stronger so does testing faith.

Jesus says, Seek and you will find. That is a promise. Don't look for Him to answer in the way you expect. But look for Him to answer. Seek Him, look for Him. Speak to Him. And He will answer.

Other passages we looked at today were... Psalm 37 and Psalm 73

peace friends-

1 - Timing of this particular sermon was appropriate for my world. A person very close to me is going through a rough time. Just yesterday evening she said she thinks that God has left her heart. (I don't even want to think about what she thinks has replaced his space.)

So there I sat, listening and wondering what is it that will lead this person to seek God when she thinks she's been abandoned? Will she pick up her Bible? Will she find her way back? Does sharing the words "seek him" bring her closer to Him or push her away?

Its easy to look around and wonder why some people have it so hard and others so seemingly easy but really it does come down to perspective. Do you believe God will deliver you through this current storm? Then why not ponder the good rather than wallow in the bad? It seems trite and easier said than done.

I was speaking with a coworker at work today who is seemingly a ray of sunshine every day. What you'd never know is that she's caretaking two family members through their bouts with cancer and has a complicated family life. When asked, she just looked and me and said - God is good and I am blessed. How cool is that?

2 - What do you think about verse 5: "If you have raced with men on foot and they have worn you out, how can you compete with horses?"?

Amazing to know that God's plan includes many more hardships than we may ever know. How do we prepare? Or do we just give it all to Him to trust he will lead us through? (Comment this)
