Independance Day
Great discussion on the last post. I'd love to get some better forums for that kind of interaction. We'll see where we go.
Today was a Jeremiah 8 and Independence Day link... Freedom is not Free. It comes at a cost. Our freedom from British rule came at the cost of a war and the blood of those who fought. Our freedom, forgiveness and eternity comes only by the cost of Jesus blood on the cross. Freedom is never free.
Other key images: the splinter- Sometimes part of God healing our wounds means digging deeper to get at the cause. His desire is healing, not to inflict pain.
the firework: the firework is a symbol that celebrates both victory and sorrow. So does the cross. This symbol of torture now represents life, eternal life.
