Join the discussion...

O.K.  maybe I should have titled this, "Start the discussion."  My hope is that this web site will be a place for all of us to drop comments, share insights and ask questions.  I also know that I don't know the best way for this to be used.

Therefore, challenge number one:

Would you offer some comments on what you think would be good things for us to do with this site... ie. Quote of the week, Songs you love, Questions about life, future message series, a What Ben meant to say column, should Stan bring back the goatee look? ...

In all seriousness, what would benefit you?  What things would you like to hear about, talk about?  What question would you like to hear others respond to?   Click the comment button and let me know what your thoughts are.

1 - I love this idea of a place to discuss how we see our faith being lived out on a daily basis. My understanding of the verse "as iron sharpens iron, so one man sharpens another" has meant a whole lot more to me lately. I can see how my faith has been sharpened particularly by individuals who don't think about their faith the way that I do.

May this dialogue (I hate that word , it's so formal) be a place that we can authentically and honestly reflect how we see God moving in each of us.

Thanks for starting it up! (Comment this)

3 - A great sermon on Sunday morning can be easily forgotten by Monday morning. I think this blog could be a great chance for discussion, reflection, and learning to take place long after leaving church on Sunday morning. I think one thing this blog could do is enhance the power and reach of a sermon. Questions can be raised and thoughts expolred that are not possible while sitting in church. I also agree with kt, "let it happen" It will. (Comment this)

4 - I have the priviledge of a short tree-filled drive to work in the morning. I love the look of the trees arching over the roads and the gentle swaying with the breeze. What a gift sight is. Could we worship in a tree-filled park someday? Not a parking lot park, but a green, leaves dancing in the breeze park?

One other thing, is there anyway to do spell check on a blog??? Grace abounds... right? (Comment this)

5 - I'm all for different venues to discuss topics of faith. Question to ponder - How should followers of Christ react; respond to an increasing belief that Christians are intolerant and bigoted? Scripture tells us love, but how? What is a practical approach? Is there a practical approach? I toss my spelling challenged questions into the mix. (Comment this)

6 - I love the idea of this blog and I think it will help a lot of us grow in our walk with the Lord. One thing that could be added to the website might be a devotional link that will help us get into the Word of God. Also maybe an "Ask the Pastor" link where we can ask questions. (Comment this)

7 - We like the historical aspects of putting each sermon message into context. It helps us understand the big picture and the deeper meaning behind the passages. Just hearing the message without putting it in context diminishes the importance for us and lessons our understanding of the intent of the passage. On another note, since we will be away from Minnesota for the next year we especially like the idea of keeping connected with the blog site. I plan to visit the websites regularly while I am in DC. Thanks. (Comment this)
