Encouragement for Life
It's amazing the power spoken or unspoken words have on life - your own life and/or the life of someone else.
One word of encouragement. A few words from a long lost friend. A smile and cheery hello. A few words shared with a stranger. Hope. Joy. Love.
OR
One word of criticism. "I was just teasing." Sticks and stones may break my bones but words will never hurt me...or will they? Or how about those words we don't even realize are hurtful to others?
One word can paint the picture of who you are or who you become. Words stick with you. Do you ever really forget them?
Several words of scripture can bring light to a stormy situation or continue to breathe life to faith that is growing. Are there some scriptures that you find particularly encouraging?
Brother. Sister. Comforter. Storyteller. Minister. Friend. Prayer. Encourager. God's already given you the power to BE. How are you using words to glorify Him?
Consider Colossians 4:3-6 "And pray for us, too, that God may open a door for our message, so that we may proclaim the mystery of Christ, for which I am in chains. Pray that I may proclaim it clearly, as I should. Be wise in the way you act toward outsiders; make the most of every opportunity. Let your conversation be always full of grace, seasoned with salt, so that you may know how to answer everyone."
May we be in prayer for each other, that we may be wise with our words and also pray for doors to open to share God's love.
It's important to be intentional with our encouragement towards each other. It's also important to try and find encouragement for your own life. Ask. Seek. Knock. Is there some way we could help encourage you? Have you been encouraged by a situation or individual and want to share it as an example? Have you considered how to make the most of every opportunity?
May God bless your week!
